On August 30, the National Anti-Corruption Police of Venezuela carried out a preventive seizure of an educational institution in Valle Arriba, Baruta municipality (Miranda). This involves the Jefferson School, a facility with a capacity for 700 students, which features a cafeteria, an amphitheater, robotics classrooms, multipurpose courts, sports areas, and dining facilities.
Owners Arrested for Corruption
The Jefferson School is one of the properties linked to the brothers Rafael Guillermo and Roger Vicente Perdomo Rodríguez, who were arrested as part of the Anti-Corruption Operation initiated in March by Attorney General Tarek William Saab. This operation aims to dismantle a network of corruption within Pdvsa.
The seizure of the school was ordered by the Special Court 2 of Control with jurisdiction over cases related to crimes associated with terrorism, presided over by Judge Carlos Liendo, as per official document No. 02-CT-164-23. The measure aims to prevent the alteration, disappearance, or deterioration of the asset, which is now under the management of the Service of Recovered Assets (SBR).
Transfer of the School
According to the seizure document, the school was handed over to the National Anti-Corruption Police by a citizen identified as GGL, who is related to the bolichicos Leopoldo Alejandro Betancourt López, FCG, and Pedro Trebbau López.

A New Owner?
Following the seizure procedure, José Simón Elarba, president of Fospuca, reportedly showed up at the Jefferson School and informed the directors that he was the new owner of the educational institution, according to witnesses. Elarba allegedly claimed that he had purchased the school and would take possession of it. However, there is no official information regarding this matter.
