Fortunately, someone in Venezuela is paying attention to the research conducted on this blog. The following letter is from Congressman Carlos Ramos (the same individual who brought to light the $29 billion hole in FONDEN), addressing several issues regarding the contract between Gemalto and a dubious, unverified Cuban intermediary for the supply of electronic identifications to Venezuela. I will ensure that Gemalto receives and signs a copy of the letter. Given that a Venezuelan congressman is raising these questions, Gemalto may have to provide a response.
