Long live PACER! We now know who will speak on behalf of ALGAMEX, the unremarkable shell aiming to finance the lawsuit “launched” by PDVSA against some of the largest trading companies in the world: David L. Evans.
Evans will be “deposed” at the office of David Boies on June 1st. But who is this character Evans? What does he have to do with this type of litigation funding, and more importantly, where does his wealth come from?
This is the showcase of P in the #youcantmakethisshitup series. Evans is set to partner with Spectrum Consulting, LLC, located at 2 Tower Place, Albany, NY 12203. That’s exactly the same address as Rational Retention, LLC owned by Duker.
Evans claims to have expertise in international taxation and estate planning. Undoubtedly, he is the errand boy for Bill Duker, the shady partner of David Boies and Wilmer Ruperti.
Boies was then asked to produce representatives for PDVSA and ALGAMEX. In the first case, we have Hilda Cabeza, spokesperson for PDVSA’s CEO, Manuel Quevedo. Quevedo and Boies have some disagreements according to consulted sources: first, Quevedo is negotiating with Trafigura, one of the main defendants, and he wants Boies to withdraw them from the lawsuit in Florida. Secondly, Boies included Ysmel Serrano as one of the “bribed officials” of PDVSA in the claim by PDVSA. Serrano is currently Vice President of PDVSA, leading under Tareck el Aissami.
Ultimately, this is nothing more than confirmation of Bill Duker‘s direct involvement in Boies’ dirty dealings with Ruperti and totally corrupt Venezuelan officials. I trust that readers won’t miss the joke in the images below…
