Twitter’s Ongoing Censorship: How Social Media Fails to Expose Venezuela’s Humanitarian Crisis

Social media is widely recognized as a double-edged sword. For some, it serves as a platform for stardom, while for others, it can be a torturous experience. In the fight to expose the horrific corruption that has plunged Venezuela into the worst humanitarian crisis of this century, Twitter has proven to be an adversary, to say the least. Their decision to permanently suspend this page’s account today confirms this reality. The complaint this time is glaringly absurd: exposing a fraud in which unscrupulous agents attempt to seize domains is, in Twitter’s opinion, a violation of their “Terms of Service.” This is the reason for the suspension. We present here the “evidence” of the alleged “violation,” while also highlighting how easy it is for anyone to visit Google and search for information on “China registry scam.”
