Thank You, U.S. Department of Justice: A Tribute to Your Fight Against Chavista Corruption in Venezuela

I have always believed that one should be as open in praise as in criticism. Depending on your perspective, the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) may have many aspects that deserve critique, of that I am sure. When it comes to Venezuela and its gang of narco-terrorists in power, no one has compiled a record of the rampant and massive corruption that compares to what we have published over nearly two decades, and no law enforcement or justice system has approached the Department of Justice in prosecuting the thugs who have literally destroyed our nation. Therefore, we believe it is only right to say to our comrades at the Department of Justice, loud and clear, THANK YOU!

Thank you for demonstrating time and again that justice can indeed be blind.

Thank you for holding onto the hopes of a nation and the surrounding region.

Thank you for being the exception.

Thank you for resisting attempts to undermine your work and the independence of your powers.

Thank you for reminding the world that no bully is too big to prosecute.

Since 2002, we have had the opportunity to meet with prosecutors and law enforcement agents in many different countries. Thank you for being the only ones who ever do something. You are slow (too slow for my liking), but you are consistent and unique. In the rest of the world, justice remains politically motivated. Thank God, political maneuvering is not ultimately a factor in your case.

Chavismo is not a political movement but a canopy of criminal gangs that have taken over a nation blessed with abundant resources. Not a single high-ranking chavista escapes this truth. No one gets to sit at the top of a criminal hierarchy, or even close to it, without being a criminal. Given that, all must be treated as such.

A little inquiry, which is what we do here, is all it takes to establish legal accountability. Where state resources are managed without a hint of accountability by a criminal gang, where the state, once a petrostate, drives the economy and is its largest employer and source of wealth, no legitimate fortune can be made, and none has been legitimately made in Venezuela since 1999. Period.

Each of these “Venezuelan entrepreneurs” who are currently “investing their wealth” around the world has left behind a trail of skeletons. This includes the mentor of Rudy Giuliani, the partner of Anthony Scaramucci, the employer of David Boies, the bosses of Adam Kaufmann, as well as clients of Brian Ballard and Robert Stryk… so thank you for keeping (some of) them honest.

We often fantasize about a task force of federal agencies led by the Department of Justice that would unleash against chavismo, similar to what has just been done against Maduro et al. We know, have stated, and reiterate the immediate and tangible effect such an endeavor would produce. The cure to liberate the planet from the chavista virus is not an invading force. No. The goal must be to strip chavismo of its money, which is what oxygenates the structure and keeps it running. Cuba, for example, continues to receive Venezuelan oil despite sanctions against Cubametales. Both nations should be promptly included on the State Sponsors of Terrorism list. Putin’s proxies should also be neutralized.

Chavismo has turned Venezuela into a narco-state, and as such, every last one of its partners, facilitators, proxies, representatives, and associates must be treated accordingly, whoever they may be. This includes, of course, prominent figures from the ever-compliant and docile “opposition.” We can only hope their arm eventually reaches them as well.

There is so much we could accomplish if we were to unite our efforts. We remain grateful, vigilant, and eager to assist.
