In addition to yesterday’s report about Libre Abordo, its “bankruptcy,” and Venezuela’s announcement to take its case to the International Criminal Court (ICC), this site can confirm that far from being out of business, Libre Abordo and Alex Saab continue to make deals with PDVSA and Maduro’s regime through Proton Sociedad Limitada. An email dated May 31, from the Captain of the MT Novo (IMO 9633446, [email protected]) leaked to this site was sent to Libre Abordo ([email protected]) as charterers related to a crude oil shipment of 1MB that will be lifted by Novo at the PDVSA José Terminal on June 4. PDVSA’s internal loading program has Novo scheduled for lifting from June 3 to 5. Proton appears as PDVSA’s “client” concerning Novo’s cargo in PDVSA’s loading records. Local maritime agent Víctor Quevedo (SEMAFERCA) was among those recognized, along with John Vasileiadis ([email protected]), Maritime Operations Coordinator of Dynacom Tankers.
In addition to the crude lifting by MT Novo mentioned above, in May, Proton took 5MB in five different shipments (Fleves, Demetrios, Kudos, Bella V, Respect) according to SAP data from PDVSA.
Comments were requested yesterday from Paul Weffer Medina, a long-time associate of SEMAFERCA, as well as from Quevedo. Additional questions regarding operations in Venezuela with Libre Abordo / Proton were sent to Vasileiadis of DYNACOM and to Cecilia Aguirre of Libre Abordo. Responses will be added here when/if received.
UPDATE 12:43 GMT: In response to the questions below, Vasileiadis from DYNACOM stated: “There is probably a misunderstanding. The previously mentioned vessel and its captain have no commitment to Libre Abordo.”
