Olivier Couriol Threatens Benoit Chabert Over Allegations of Gold Theft from Venezuela: Legal Ramifications and International Implications

The joke of the day is an email sent by the lawyer of Olivier Couriol in Paris, Benoit Chabert, demanding that this site remove the post titled “[UPDATED] Sources: Wassoul’or and Noor Capital Stripping Venezuela’s Gold Bars” within 24 hours. Chabert claims that revealing Couriol’s connections with Noor Capital, Venezuelan gold, and the role of Wassoul’or’s Diallo in the diversion of sovereign gold bars violates French laws. To Couriol and Chabert: Venezuela, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Mali, Switzerland, the UK, and the US are not under French jurisdiction, so go ahead and present your ridiculous claims against this site, considering that discovery works both ways. The thoroughly questionable endeavors of Couriol, whether with Airbus or Shell/ENI, are of great interest. For this site, Couriol’s entry into the whole Venezuelan gold business – sources assert thanks to the good offices of Armando “Coco” Capriles – also explains why the UAE-based Noor Capital team he’s associated with was chosen by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) as an authorized partner to manage up to $750 million of Venezuela’s international reserves. However, curiously, neither Couriol nor Noor Capital responded to requests for comments. Since this site did not yield to the threat from Diallo/Wassoul’or, we have raised the stakes and we look forward to it with much gratitude.

And I suppose Olivier Couriol and Benoit Chabert are also going to sue @tdgch, right? Or are they just going after the little indian? 🤣 Cc @USTreasury https://t.co/jtdKqhVphD pic.twitter.com/YNv4HrEMRd
