Nicolás Maduro’s Fate: Will He Follow Noriega’s Path Amid U.S. Drug Accusations?

Persistent rumors are circulating about a major indictment against Nicolás Maduro, Cilia Flores, Tareck el Aisami, and Diosdado Cabello. This move could represent the Trump administration’s strategy to intensify pressure on the Chavismo regime. According to sources, Venezuela may be added to the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism alongside Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria.

Details reveal that Maduro’s and Cilia’s own family members have been implicated in drug trafficking. Furthermore, Tareck el Aisami and Diosdado Cabello’s backgrounds suggest that the leaders of the main power factions within Chavismo have dubious and highly questionable connections to illicit drug trade. For this reason, sources indicate that a solution reminiscent of the Noriega scenario is even being considered.

The alleged measures could be announced in early March, setting the stage for Juan Guaido‘s rally in Congress on the 10th. Prosecutors from the Department of Justice and the Southern District of New York are reportedly behind the mega indictment, which, once unveiled, could mobilize the DEA, FBI, CIA, ICE, and other federal agencies in a comprehensive effort to resolve the stalemate in Venezuela.
