Nicolás Maduro’s Accusations Against the US: A Hybrid Warfare Strategy Spotlighting Venezuela’s Dictatorship

The curious accusation from Nicolás Maduro’s regime against the United States claims that it is waging a “hybrid war” as a “nefarious mechanism” employed by imperialism against Venezuela, thus painting the dictatorship, which has been mastering such strategies for a quarter of a century, as a victim.

The Maduro dictatorship, which has turned Venezuela into the largest misinformation hub in Latin America, distorts this reality and uses a manipulated narrative to present itself as the target of an unconventional war aimed at destabilizing it.

The Venezuelan tyranny, which has dismantled institutions and made chaos a survival policy, wants to convince people that the crisis is the result of economic manipulation and media campaigns orchestrated especially from the U.S., which they portray as the primary “instigator,” against whom chavismo rises in a counteroffensive.

Misinformation and indoctrination as regime policy

Maduro accuses of using his own weapons against the U.S.

Through a pamphlet titled “Hybrid War: Criminal Method Against the People of Venezuela”, Maduro’s regime utilizes elements of hybrid warfare—such as misinformation and manipulated information—to accuse an orchestrated movement by “imperialism” designed to destabilize the “progressive” Venezuelan state to enable the domination of “world capital.”

It conveniently ignores that Nicolás Maduro and his predecessor Hugo Chávez, both aware of the importance of communications, established a monumental structure to impose narratives that serve their interests. Indoctrination is a regime policy, and to avoid any opposition to its goals, it has eradicated independent journalism in Venezuela.

Chavismo, particularly Maduro, exploits misinformation as a weapon of war, targeting the Venezuelan people with relentless onslaughts of fake news, a strategy especially employed in the cyber confrontations.

Chavista victimization and shamelessness

“Hybrid War: Criminal Method Against the People of Venezuela” is, in itself, a tool of victimization that the chavista dictatorship employs to distort reality through a blend of conventional and unconventional warfare methods, the very same ones they accuse in democratic settings.

It is emphasized that in hybrid warfare, there is no clear distinction between war and peace, nor between violence and non-violence, as the aggressor often resorts to clandestine actions—an entire self-description of a regime that makes societal polarization its gravitational center.

The same regime that uses massive immigration to attack the democratic Western world, destabilizing it through the infiltration of large groups of irregulars, particularly in the United States, is the one that denounces in this pamphlet “terrorist acts, coercion and indiscriminate violence, criminal disorder, and fake news” to achieve its objectives.

Shamelessly, chavismo, which has thrown the Venezuelan people into misery and keeps them there, claims that in response to the supposedly targeted “economic war,” it implements the “Bolivarian Economic Agenda” and its 15 productive engines to combat the imperialist offensive.

Without any shame, it categorizes its “food production system, cost and price fixing, gasoline price scheme, currency management, and the ‘strategic military concept'”—which have impoverished and subdued Venezuelan society—as the formula with which Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship intends to save it.
