The United States Department of the Treasury (blessed be) issued new sanctions against PDVSA last Friday. Several tugboats (34) and a tanker were added to the list. Targeting the parasitic Cuban dictatorship is crucial to put an end to Chavismo in Venezuela, and there is no better way than to interrupt or completely halt the continuous transfer of oil to Raúl Castro. Thus, it’s a great move by the Treasury, which we Venezuelans should be thankful for, although I still think the measure could be made more effective by adding the following tankers to the list:

The aforementioned tankers have delivered over 36 million barrels of crude oil and derivatives to Cuba since early 2017. At the average oil price here, that represents a net transfer of more than $2.1 billion. In all cases, the “client” of PDVSA has been Cubametales, a subsidiary of CUPET.
In just the month of March 2019, more than 1 million barrels were delivered to Cubametales by tankers Impros, S-Trotter, and Nedas. This hemorrhage of resources, to prop up two dictatorships, must stop.
