Check out PanAm Post, I can’t handle this right now.
“The revival of Galt’s Gulch Chile has begun!” states the announcement made via Facebook on Friday, April 25.* After being off the grid for more than six months, the development project inspired by Ayn Rand’s dystopian novel Atlas Shrugged seems to be re-emerging, but it is accompanied by new controversies and serious consequences.
In their revival statement, Galt’s Gulch Chile (GGC) denounces a confrontation and theft that allegedly occurred on the premises in October 2014: “a few short-sighted and self-serving individuals took illegal control of the GGC offices, clubhouse, farm, and land.” The statement highlights the involvement of a “small group of thieves” led by Thomas Baker, who is described as “a dishonest military cop,” and Edward J. Lashlee, who “was sentenced to federal prison in 2003 after being involved in an $80,000,000 Ponzi scheme.”
UPDATE: It appears that Ken Johnson has resumed control. You can find more about him in my previous Galt’s Gulch article from last year. Quite an interesting dude.
