FOGADE, representing BanCoro (currently in liquidation), has filed a lawsuit against its former administrator, Fernando Lauría, and his wife, Isabel Osío de Lauría (sister of David Osío, owner of Davos Financial Corporation), for allegedly embezzling USD 543,654,000 in bonds issued by the Republic of Venezuela and PDVSA. According to the lawsuit, submitted to the courts in the State of Florida, USA, Lauría ordered the transfer of BanCoro’s bonds shortly before its intervention, without any compensation, to a shell company he controls called Yerkoy Trading Corporation, which has an account at MMG Bank in Panama. FOGADE is demanding that Lauría return the bonds along with the interest accrued. The lawsuit also accuses Davos Financial Corporation and Davos Financial Advisors (owned by David Osío, Lauría’s wife’s brother) of concealing, laundering, and facilitating the movement of the bonds and funds misappropriated by Lauría and Osío from BanCoro.
