A house exploded in Lechería, Anzoátegui state, on the morning of Tuesday, April 25, leaving at least four people injured. The injured individuals are receiving medical attention at the Doctor Luis Razetti University Hospital in Barcelona, the capital of the state.
The information was shared by Lechería’s mayor, Manuel Ferreira. Through social media, Ferreira posted images of the incident. Meanwhile, Civil Protection published updates about the security operation in the area.

“We are verifying to determine if there are more people under the rubble. Search dogs and lifeguards are deployed to investigate the adjacent canal,” Ferreira wrote on Twitter.

As of this publication, the cause of the explosion, which occurred in the Pueblo Viejo area, is still unknown. Authorities have not yet clarified the situation. Additionally, various users on social media report that the shockwave was felt in nearby areas. Residents of Puerto La Cruz and Barcelona also mentioned feeling the impact.
Juan García, a resident of Lechería, described the incident as feeling like an earthquake. Other witnesses noted that the vibrations shattered windows and glass doors in homes and offices.
