Here’s an admission: I find it absolutely fascinating that someone like Eva Golinger is thriving in Venezuela amidst a global climate of unemployment and economic struggles. There are several reasons for this, primarily that Venezuela is not in a position to waste money on absurd ideas. Golinger, whose professional life in her home country (the U.S.) was rather short-lived—until I reported her for misleading the IRS and the American public—has just received approximately $3.2 million from the Venezuelan Congress to boost the distribution of a propaganda piece she recently launched called Correo del Orinoco.
I hope her fans take anything Golinger publishes there as the ultimate truth, yet one would think that given the enormous problems currently affecting all Venezuelans, $3.2 million could be better spent. Surely, this is a clear sign of Chávez’s utter irresponsibility and Golinger’s independence, if she ever enjoyed the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the IRS should send her some questions?
UPDATE: Eva Golinger claims I’m “tweeting lies” (she wasn’t pleased with my comments, so her tweets are now protected, but here’s a link for future reference). I suggested she discuss it with Chávez’s information sources:
