Cuba’s Denial of Entry to Spanish Socialist Sparks Questions Amidst Ongoing Dictatorial Practices

Something must be occurring within the Castro dictatorship brotherhood. El País reports this morning that Luis Yáñez, a Spanish Socialist MEP, was denied entry to Cuba and had to take the next flight out of the prison island. Surely, this is a sign of democratic improvement, right?

UPDATE: Spain has requested explanations from the Cuban ambassador, who stated that “internal laws” led to Yáñez’s expulsion. This is coming from the same regime with which Spanish Foreign Minister Moratinos wants the EU to enhance relations.
