Corruption in Venezuela: Child Recruitment by Criminal Gangs and Power Outages Leading to Hospital Deaths

Reports Claim Russians Are Purchasing Venezuelan Oil with “Devalued Rubles”

Vente Venezuela condemns that in the first quarter of the year, over 200 Venezuelans have died in hospitals due to failures in the electrical service

Criminal groups – whether guerrilla forces or criminal organizations – are actively recruiting Venezuelan children across the country, and this must be punished severely,” stated Omar González Moreno, a national leader of Vente Venezuela.

The liberal leader asserted that both Colombian irregular groups, such as the National Liberation Army (ELN) and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), are enlisting members from low-income youth in rural areas of Apure, Táchira, and Zulia.

He pointed out that, on the other hand, domestic criminal groups are also doing the same in the impoverished neighborhoods of major cities, turning a generation into criminals due to the rise of gang organizations that seem untouchable in the nation.

He emphasized that the issue of the criminalization of Venezuelan society is a serious matter that needs to be addressed because it involves the destruction of the future by normalizing a culture of crime within Venezuela.

The liberal expressed that impunity has been the main ally of crime in the country and the growth of organized gangs, which are now filling their ranks with young people who turn to delinquency in light of Venezuela’s severe economic crisis.

Deadly Blackouts

Omar González reported that during the first quarter of the year – according to data analyzed by the social monitoring team of Vente Venezuela – more than 200 deaths have been recorded in hospitals due to electrical failures.

He noted that the constant power outages and the lack of contingency equipment in healthcare facilities are so severe that hundreds of Venezuelans have died from the neglect of Corpoelec and the governments managing the hospitals.

“This is the reality of a failed system, of a government mechanism that has destroyed everything and now leaves Venezuelans at the mercy of luck,” he declared.

Rubles

Vente Venezuela rejected the possibility that Russians are buying Venezuelan oil and other raw materials with devalued rubles, an action permitted by the usurpation.

“Maduro’s levels of submission to Moscow are total; this man does not look out for national interests, his only goal is to satisfy his masters in Russia, and of course, those in Cuba,” stated Omar González Moreno.
