The 15th Civil Court specializing in Asset Forfeiture has ordered the seizure of numerous movable and immovable assets belonging to brothers Rafael Guillermo and Roger Vicente Rodríguez Perdomo, who are currently detained for their alleged involvement in the Pdvsa Cripto corruption scandal. This decision marks the first case concluded under the Organic Law on Asset Forfeiture, approved in April 2023. This information comes from Últimas Noticias.

Among the assets being transferred to the Venezuelan state are iconic properties in Caracas, including the Torre Sena, Camponorte building, an apartment in the Country Club, a penthouse in Valle Arriba, lands in Las Mercedes, and offices in well-known business towers like Torre Europa, Torre La Castellana, and Torre SMA.

The ruling, issued on December 18 following a trial that began earlier this year, authorizes the National Service of Seized Assets to identify and confiscate any additional properties that may be linked to the illegal operations associated with the accused. Furthermore, the Attorney General’s Office will be notified of any new findings.

The Perdomo brothers, who are included in a list of 61 detainees in the Pdvsa Cripto case, face accusations of acquiring their assets with funds originating from illicit activities detected within the state oil company. Although the accused provided documents to justify the origin of their properties, the Public Ministry argued that these were the result of illegal operations and requested their asset forfeiture.

One of the most notable assets attributed to the Perdomo brothers is the Jefferson School, located in Valle Arriba, which was preventively seized by the National Anti-Corruption Police in October 2023.
