Primicias24 represents investigative journalism at its most extreme, deeply rooted in Chavismo. The site is run and edited by a man named Carlos Herrera, a former councilman. Herrera and his publication have been on an unrelenting streak lately, publishing content about me that reveals more about his worldview than anything else. For instance, I learned from Herrera some time ago that I “had AIDS.” He later published an article titled “Carlos Herrera Responds to the Hitman, Homosexual, and Sick Alek Boyd.” Following that, he made a wild allegation, claiming I was “part of a plan to expel Nicolás Maduro while destroying PDVSA.” Such a sensational headline must have earned him sympathy in certain criminal circles, as thereafter, Herrera wrote about a “lawsuit” that a couple of Boligarch thugs had “filed” against me in Caracas. My silence must have frustrated him to an unbearable point, so he escalated his claims and published something about me “being wanted” by some court. Note that this latest claim is based on other equally false statements made by the lawyer of another Boligarch thug known as Alex Saab, whose associates are now fleeing from Ecuadorian justice. However, this latest assertion deserves a reaction. Seriously. It is so extravagant, so irresponsible, so delightfully false, and so impossible to sustain, while claiming to be the product of the “Primicias24 investigative team,” which was alerted by “international intelligence forces,” that it warrants a proper response.
The major issue for Herrera and his sources is quite insurmountable: my mother passed away in 1983.
Keep this in mind the next time you read a report from a Chavista “investigative journalist,” or from their sponsors, or partners, or about a “lawsuit,” or a “coup.”
